Dr. Housholder is the leading physician treating HG in the US, treating over 1500 HG patients since 2022. Dr. H follows ACOG guidelines and HER Foundation protocols and is an active HG researcher with Dr. Marlena Fejzo, our chief scientific officer.

This appointment is thorough and comprehensive. Dr. H will spend time explaining what is going on in your pregnancy, the latest research on nausea and vomiting in pregnancy (HG), and he will make a full medication and infusion treatment plan for you.

Your at-home medications will be the most important part of your care plan. Dr. Housholder will prescribe these, and write IV infusion orders for you for an infusion center near your home.

Your care team will consist of: Dr. H’s nurses, our nurse practitioner and a case manager who will check in with you. We will adjust medications as needed - until you are able to hold down foods and liquids and you are gaining weight.

Accessible HG care is important to us. We are not currently in network with insurance for patients who reside in Florida. We are in the process of credentialing, but this takes time. We will provide you with a superbill for the services you receive from us, and you can file that with your insurance towards your out-of-network benefits.

Our current model for HG care in Florida is a self-pay pilot program, which will pave the way for us to prove to insurers in GA & FL that aggressive and early HG care is vital.

Note: Our Alabama Clinic takes insurance! If you have an insurance we are in network with and you want to travel to our Alabama Clinic, we can take your insurance!

We DO have financial aid available for Florida Medicaid patients.

$425 - A 30-45 min telehealth with Dr. Housholder. Includes a multi-tier treatment plan, infusion orders, as well as mental health & advocacy resources. We will walk you through how to get care locally for HG, send in orders for infusions to local infusion centers, and you will have access to your HG care team through our app throughout your pregnancy. This care management for your entire pregnancy is included in the initial appointment cost.

$135 - Follow-ups with Dr. H - HG care requires frequent medication changes. While our first appointment includes multiple treatment tiers, severe and complex patients require multiple medication changes to get symptoms under control. For severe patients, we recommend weekly or biweekly telehealth appointments until symptoms are under control.

Mild Patients: Initial appointment + one followup appointment after 2 weeks

Medium Severity: Initial appointment + 2 followups, every other week.

Severe Patients: Initial appointment + 3-4+ follow-ups until symptoms are under control

Dr. Housholder will write you prescriptions for at-home medications to keep your symptoms under control. Having treated over 1500 HG patients, Dr. H is skilled at finding medication combinations that work for HG patients. If you can’t keep anything down, including your medications, he’s got you! Dr. H follows ACOG guidelines and HER Foundation treatment protocols.

Dr. H will also write infusion orders for a local infusion center near you. Our team will work to help you find a center that takes your insurance!

Our HG care team will also assist with mental health resources and employment advocacy so that HG mamas can keep their jobs!

Dr. H will need certain diagnostics such as an EKG and bloodwork. We will assist you in finding locations to do these tests for you.

Dr. H does preconception appointments! This is a one hour appointment that educates you on the latest research surrounding HG prevention. During this preconception appointment, Dr. H walks you through not only possible prevention pathways, but also discusses prior pregnancies and what could be done in the future if you were to get HG again. He makes a treatment plan for your future pregnancy that can be implemented the moment symptoms arise. You will have access to Dr. H and his care team through an app during your time TTC and during your pregnancy.

Preconception appointment + HG Treatment plan: $400

(Note: If you become pregnant and need to enact your treatment plan, you will need follow-up appointments with Dr. H to set up infusions and adjust medications frequency depends on severity. See HG Pilot Program Cost for estimates.)

Dr. Housholder works in tandem with your pregnancy health care provider to get you the care you need to keep you and baby healthy.

Dr. Housholder will manage your care and medications for nausea and vomiting, while your pregnancy healthcare provider continues to monitor you for the overall health of your pregnancy.

Dr. H faxes regular notes about your HG care to your provider, so that they are always up to date.

OBGYNS and providers throughout the US refer patients to our clinic to receive the best HG care available. Patients report satisfaction of less than 4/10 for HG care with prior pregnancies, and greater than 9/10 with our care. They also have 15% higher satisfaction with their OBs when they are referred to us for HG care.

Dr. Housholder follows the most up-to-date research on HG treatments using ACOG and HER Foundation treatment protocols and will present on treatment pathways for resistant HG at SMFM in February 2026.

Dr. Housholder collaborates with Dr. Fejzo, TIME’s Woman of the Year to further studies on HG.

Our goal is to save you time and keep your HG patients out of the ER and hospital. We will fax updates on your patient, manage their at home nausea medications, have frequent patient checkins and help facilitate weekly infusions. Our care keeps 80-95% of our HG patients out of the hospital and ER!
